β οΈ Check engine light P0700, P0300, etc
Issue & causes β EVAP leak, Oβ sensor, catalyst efficiency, misfire, thermostat, VVT solenoids (common on 3.6L). Pacifica hybrids also have electric drive codes.
Symptoms β Rough idle, reduced power, fuel smell, or no symptoms at all.
Step-by-step diagnosis
- Read codes with OBD2 scanner β write down freeze frame data.
- Check fuel cap β click 3 times, clear codes, drive 50 miles.
- Inspect vacuum lines and air filter (clogged filter can cause lean codes).
- For misfire codes (P030X), swap coils/plugs to identify.

π Battery/alternator light
Issue β voltage outside 13.2β14.8V running. Alternator diode failure, worn brushes, or battery internal short.
Symptoms β dim lights, flickering interior, power tailgate slow, “battery saver active” message.

- Multimeter: engine off 12.4β12.7V ; running 13.8β14.8V.
- Load test battery (free at chain stores).
- Check belt tension and alternator pulley (clutch pulley can fail).

Diagnosis safety β requires high-voltage trained tech. Start by checking 12V battery condition and hybrid coolant level (pink).

π Service shifter / transmission light

Normal reasons β battery charging, engine cold, HVAC demand, or after remote start. If persistent, aux battery (small behind cover) may be weak.
πͺ Door / power liftgate warning
Check β latches, wiring in hinge (broken wires), or strut failure. Pacifica sliding doors have multiple sensors.
π Key fob not detected
Fix β replace fob battery (CR2032). Hold fob against start button for backup. Interference from phone or charger.
π§ Washer fluid low
Refill with -20Β° fluid. Sensor can fail if fluid is thick or contaminated.
